What’s New in Our Curriculum?

Practical Training & Projects

Live Ramp Simulation Activities:
Students must manage real-world scenarios in real time, including marshaling inbound aircraft, operating belt loaders and cargo dollies, coordinating fueling and catering trucks, and performing safe pushback maneuvers. They are also taught to manage Peak-period exercises with simultaneous arrivals and departures.

Capstone Project:
Learners create an exhaustive Ground Operations Plan for a fictitious medium-sized airport. Students are tasked with crafting optimally balanced resource allocation graphs (GSE, personnel, and gate assignment) alongside developing emergency contingency plans and turnaround-time analyses from extensive flight schedule data, fleet composition, and staffing budget—illustrating a balanced multi-criteria decision-making approach involving efficiency, safety, and cost.

Role Play & Incident Response Drills:
Students take part in scripted response drills that cover a mix of responding to over-the-road ramp vehicle accidents, managing DGR spill simulations, fire and medic fuel leak coordination, and boarding pass-controlled crowd management for delayed flights. Students require sharp focus to maintain succinct transmissions over the radio while achieving the goal at hand.

Work-Integrated Learning Internships:
Each student obtains a four-week internship with a sponsored ground handling company, airline, or cargo terminal. Under experienced supervisors, interns actively engage in baggage handling during live flights and cargo acceptance roles, participate in ramp briefings, and are guided through safety audits, blending theory, and practical exposure.

Career Opportunities & Scope

Students completing LinkIt’s Ground Handling Services Course can be engaged in diverse career paths owing to their strong industry compliance understanding, customer relations management, technical field skills, and adherence to the legal framework working as:

Global air travel is expected to increase in 2025 due to recovering travel demand and new low-cost carrier expansions, so trained ground handling professionals will be highly sought after. Moving from local handling companies to international service providers, career pathways frequently accelerate within 2 to 3 years after certification, enabling access to leadership, management, and even strategic roles throughout the ground services ecosystem.
